Oregon Slender Salamanders

Oregon Slender Salamanders, Batrachoseps wrighti, are typically associated with mature, intact forests. In recent years, multiple disjunct populations have been discovered within an suburban matrix. We are using genomic data to determine whether these populations represent evolutionary relicts, or more recent human-assisted introductions. These findings will aid conservation plans for this evolutionarily distinct, and geographically restricted species of special concern.
